Creating aha! Moments with Exxon Mobil

AEI Food Store proudly partners with Exxon Mobil to help build bright futures for our children. Exxon's Educational Alliance Grant was created to help fuel young minds and create aha moments. The grant funds math and science programs for our schools. 

Today our local AEI Food Store (vending Exxon Gasoline at Plateau Plaza) in conjunction with Cross America Partners presented Franklin County HIgh School  with a check for $500 to support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.

Round Up for the Kids Campaign Results

Through the Round Up for the Kids Campaign held October 1st-October 31st, Arrington Management Group, was able to donate $5,996 to Children's Miracle Network. Arrington Management Group would like to thank every Dairy Queen customer who rounded up their order and shared their support and encouragement for this wonderful cause that is near and dear to our heart!

Every dollar raised during this campaign will go to local children's hospitals in our area including Carilion Children's, Centra Lynchburg General and Virginia Baptist Hospitals. Every donation, big and small, makes a difference for our local kids.

Veterans Day - "Missing Man Tables"
November 11, 2019

We understand that our freedom is not free and wanted to acknowledge the service of our veterans. A number of our restaurants set up a "Missing Man" table honoring our fallen, missing, or imprisoned military service members with specific items that symbolize their courage and sacrifice.

In addition our DQ locations will be treating veterans to a Medium Blizzard, and our Bojangles' will be treating veterans to a free meal on Veteran's Day. Thank you, Veterans!

As Sarah Williams, Restaurant Manager of Plateau Plaza Dairy Queen, purchased candy for the trick-or-treaters that will visit her store on Halloween, she thought of the children in Carilion Children's hospital who will not be able to participate in Halloween in the traditional way, which prompted the idea to create and donate Halloween themed goodie bags for the children at Carilion Children's Hospital. Sarah stated, " I don’t want any kids left out."

Thank you, Sarah for going above and beyond to continually support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, like Carilion Children's!

Dairy Queen Participates in the Round Up for The Kids Campaign

From October 1 to 31, Arrington Management Group Dairy Queen locations will be asking customers to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or make an additional donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Round Up for the Kids is a great way to give back to your local CMN Hospital and local kids treated there. Kids like Meg, who is treated at Carilion Children’s Hospital, for Cerebellar Hypoplasia, Cerebral Palsy Ataxia and Short Stature. Funds from CMN Hospitals purchase medical specialized equipment and therapies for children in our area! Thank you for your continued support of Children's Miracle Network!

Franklin County Sheriff's Office Donates to Children's Miracle Network

Arrington Management Group was proud to accept a donation for Children's Miracle Network from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. CMN raises funding for local children's hospitals, including Carilion Children's Hospital. “The Office of the Sheriff is honored to, once again, donate to this most worthy mission sponsored by our partners at Arrington Enterprises.” Overton said. Arrington Management Group thanks all who donated!

Bojangles' Supports Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

On June 7th, team members from the Plateau Plaza Bojangles' wore t-shirt to remember a long-time employee, Harold Kefauver, who passed way on September 19, 2018 following complications with Type 1 Diabetes.

The Plaza Bojangles' was proud to show Harold's family their support as well as assist in their raising of funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The Dairy Queens gave away 7,448 free cones and raised $1,551.53 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Thank you to our loyal fans for helping us support local children in our community!

Bojangles' Player Wins Sportsmanship Award

AMG wants to congratulate Nylah for receiving the Sportsmanship Award for the sportsmanship she demonstrated while playing on the Bojangles' basketball team this season.

Nylah played on the Rocky Mount 7/8 basketball team coached by Jermaine Watkins. Here is why she was chosen, "Nylah was a good, hard working player, a good listener and a good role model to the kids. She always worked hard with everything." Keep it up, Nylah!

Dairy Queen Player Wins Sportsmanship Award

AMG wants to congratulate Bret for receiving the Sportsmanship Award for the sportsmanship he demonstrated while playing on the Dairy Queen basketball team this season.

Bret played on the Callaway 5/6 Basketball team coached by Wallace Chitwood. Here is why he was chosen, "Bret never has played basketball prior. He worked hard at each practice and played harder at games. He never complained and also did what was asked of him. During one of the practices, he let another player that was younger and smaller win during a practice game. He was a pleasure to have on our team." Kudos Bret!

Cash played on the Dudley 9/10 Boys Basketball team coached by Scottie Manning. Here is why Cash was chosen, "Cash was the sportsmanship award winner on the 9/10 Dudley Basketball team. Cash gave it his all on the court and always had a smile on his face no matter the outcome of the game. He was eager to learn and was a pleasure to coach this season. We hope to see him on the court next year." Way to go Cash!!

Plateau Plaza Dairy Queen was honored to treat this "Make a Wish" family to their meal!

The Make a Wish Foundation mission states that "wishes impact everyone involved - wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. The impact varies. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic."

DQ system celebrates biggest annual contribution to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals ever!

In 2018, DQ franchisees and fans contributed more than ever to the brand’s national charity partner, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). Through this partnership, 100% of donations submitted from local stores go directly to children’s hospitals within or near their community.  The U.S. system combined to raise more than $5.94 million, an increase of more than 4.5% over 2017.

These dollars make all the difference for local children’s hospitals as they use them to bring happiness and hope to sick and injured children and their families across the U.S. and Canada.

A special thanks to our loyal fans who made it possible for Arrington Management Group to be the 4th largest contributor in the Mid-Atlantic Region with $18,231 in donations in 2018. We look forward to exceeding this number in 2019!
